Rustic Summer Wedding at Lakeview at The Broken P
Ben and Elise’s wedding day was the perfect blend of rustic charm and joyful romance. Set at Lakeview at The Broken P in Bowling Green, Missouri, the venue offered natural wood tones, cozy fireplaces, and dreamy lake views that made everything feel warm and inviting. Their ceremony took place under a wooden cross handcrafted by Elise’s dad — a deeply meaningful touch that set the tone for a day full of love, family, and faith.
Getting to be both Elise’s florist and one of her bridesmaids made this one extra special. Elise and I met in college (shocker — through the floral design program, of course!) and she’s been one of my favorite people ever since. Designing for a friend is always an honor, but standing by her side while she married the love of her life? Truly unforgettable.
For their palette, we pulled together cheerful pops of coral and peach, with layered pinks and creamy neutrals. The bouquets felt playful yet refined, overflowing with ranunculus, peonies, roses, and delicate textural touches. Bud vases were a major player throughout the space — grouped in soft clusters on every table and lining the stone fireplace mantel. Above the head table, their last name “Leubbering” was displayed in script and surrounded by fresh greenery, with twinkle lights overhead adding the perfect golden glow.
A few favorite details? Elise’s embroidered cowboy boots tucked next to her floral-filled invitation suite, the bridesmaids in warm clay-toned dresses carrying matching blooms, and the way Ben looked at Elise all day long — total heart-melter. The whole day was a reflection of their personalities: sweet, meaningful, and full of genuine joy.
About the Couple
Ben and Elise’s story began during their year of service on the Missouri FFA State Officer Team — a whirlwind season full of long days, big dreams, and (for them) the start of something even bigger. Of course, dating during that year is technically a no-no… so let’s just say their love story started quietly. 😉 They fell for each other fast, but with these two, it never felt rushed — just right. From the beginning, there was no doubt they’d found their person.
Both Ben and Elise come from small rural communities, grounded in strong values, deep roots, and unwavering faith. That foundation showed up in every part of their wedding day — in the intentional details, in the warmth of the people surrounding them, and in the quiet, steady way they love one another. They’re the kind of couple that makes everyone around them believe in the good stuff — the forever kind.
And one of our favorite personal touches? The reception dinner. While planning their wedding and building a home on Ben’s family farm, Elise knew she wanted the day to feel true to who they are — no fuss, just full of love. So they served one of their favorites: Hunt Brothers Pizza. Cozy, familiar, and shared with the people they love most. It was perfect.
Kind Words from Elise
“Amberlee was so wonderful to work with! She took my inspiration and made everything come to life so beautifully. She put so much effort into every single detail and you wouldn't believe how many compliments her work received the day of AND in each photo! Highly recommend working with her to make your floral dreams come true!”
